Edwin was the 2001 recipient of the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award,which is given to one high school senior for "Outstanding Music Performance".

Edwin is currently the head drum instructor at North Plainfield High School for their Marching Band.
Which was number one at states last year and numerous times prior to that in the top three for their drum section.
